Formula Fling (Race Fever Book 1) Book Review - No Spoilers
Plot Summary
Formula Fling by Sawyer Bennett follows Posey Evans, a romance author who secretly wants to write about the high-stakes world of Formula racing. To get inside access, she poses as a journalist and is assigned to shadow the top driver, Lex Hamilton—cocky, talented, and always flirting with danger. He has a reputation and a short leash with team management. When Lex uncovers Posey’s real plan, they make a deal: she keeps her cover if she helps keep him on track—literally. As they spend time together behind the glare of cameras and speed, lines blur, chemistry builds, and what started as a professional arrangement becomes deeply personal.
Why I Love This Book
I love how I feel like I’m learning about the Formula racing world right beside Posey. I love her determination—she isn’t pretending to be strong. She really is. I love Lex’s swagger and the way he softens around her. I love how they push each other in unexpected ways. I love the tension—both emotional and steam. I love that it’s a fling at first, but the connection feels true. I love the balance of racing drama and romance. It pulls me in, and then it gets under my skin.
Who Will Like This Book
If you like fast-paced sports romance, forced proximity setups, secrets, and opposites-attract chemistry, this story will grab you. If you're curious about racing but don’t want a textbook, this hits the sweet spot.
⚠️ Trigger warning: There’s tension tied to professional pressure and identity deception. It’s not graphic, but it can feel intense. Approach with that in mind.
