I love the breakneck pace—there’s never a dull moment. The chemistry between Emma and Jace sizzles from the start; this isn’t a slow burn, but that’s exactly why it works for me. Jace is every bit the desperate, protective alpha, gruff on the outside but loyal to a fault. Emma is resourceful, tough, and believable as a woman driven by survival yet open to risk. The “fated mates” pull adds urgency, but Wilde doesn’t phone it in—the characters struggle to trust, making every win feel earned.
There’s a perfect blend of action and heart. Shootouts, escapes, betrayals, and family drama all keep the story moving while the romance builds fast but never feels baseless.
