My Leak It: An Erotic Novella Book Review - No Spoilers
Plot Summary
"Leak It: An Erotic Novella" by A. Blossom is about Naomi Honey, an elementary school teacher fresh off a painful divorce, who sets out on a cruise hoping for a little peace. Instead, she finds herself in a messy, hot, and totally unexpected entanglement with twin brothers, Houston and Harlem Carter. After her ex shows up on the same cruise, the universe (and a hot tub) tosses her into the Carters’ path. Naomi’s journey quickly shifts from heartbreak to wild experimentation as one drunken night reveals new possibilities—fun, desire, risk, and even love—in ways she never expected. The story doesn’t just stay steamy. It explores what happens when private moments and public judgment collide, with a leaked tape threatening Naomi’s reputation and her new relationships. The novella puts polyamory and Black female pleasure front and center, keeping the pace quick and the heat all the way up.
Why I Love This Book
I love how bold and unapologetic this story is. It moves fast without ever feeling shallow. I’m immediately hooked from the first scene, and the story doesn’t let up. The sexual chemistry jumps off the page, especially between Naomi and the Carter twins. I appreciate how the book makes space for pleasure, fantasy, and messiness—while also highlighting the double standards and judgments women face, especially Black women embracing their own desires. The scenes are super explicit but never lose their sense of fun. There’s no shame in these pages, and I love how Naomi gets supported by her friends to embrace what she wants, regardless of what anyone thinks. The drama of a public scandal and the tension around the leaked tape adds a wild, unpredictable element that’s just juicy. Harlem and Houston could have been stereotypes, but I find moments of genuine care (like Harlem looking after Naomi when she overindulges) that add heart to all the heat. I also appreciate seeing contemporary romance and erotica take on throuple dynamics and the “why choose” trope with so much energy—and with main characters who are Black and proud of it. The story is short, addictive, and left me wanting more from this trio.
I love that this is a story about sexual freedom that doesn’t back away from the risks or challenges—jealousy, secrets, shame, and the way society judges female pleasure all get some honest airtime. There’s not a huge amount of character development, but for a quick, spicy novella, it absolutely delivers what it promises. It’s fun, dirty, celebratory, and totally self-aware about its over-the-top premise. That’s exactly what I want when I pick up a book like this.
Who Will Like This Book
If you love erotic romance with lots of spice, open-door scenes, and throuple or "why choose" dynamics, this is for you. You’ll enjoy it if you want a quick read that doesn’t hesitate to be explicit and messy, with a strong, Black heroine at the center. If you’re into books about sexual empowerment, drama, and taboo-breaking relationships, you’ll definitely have fun here. This is perfect for readers who want diversity, fast pacing, and a plot that doesn’t slow down for anything. Content warnings include explicit sex, alcohol, pregnancy, jealousy, leaked nudes, and some moments of emotional vulnerability. It’s not the book to read if you want deep character arcs—but if you want steamy drama and escapism, this hits the spot.
