My The Marriage Hex Book Review - No Spoilers
Plot Summary
The Marriage Hex by Sarah Blue kicks off the Celestial Witches series with a blend of magic, tension, and heart. Violet, a healing witch, and her childhood best friend Silas, now an alpha werewolf, make a pact at sixteen: if they’re both single at thirty, they’ll marry each other. Fourteen years later, thanks to a magical hex Violet accidentally casts, the promise comes back to haunt them—they wake up compelled to get married. But both have changed: Violet is bound to her coven and Silas leads the local pack, and witches and shifters are sworn enemies. Forced into marriage, they have to figure out if the old connection they shared will survive family feuds, secrets, and tangled feelings. There’s plenty of banter, magical mishaps, secret longing, and the chaos of trying to break or accept a magical bond neither of them really wanted—or maybe both secretly did.
Why I Love This Book
I love how The Marriage Hex just keeps things fun and emotional at the same time. It’s got that cozy, witchy, small-town vibe that puts me in the mood for a comfort reread. I’m a sucker for reunited childhood friends, and Violet and Silas totally deliver—the mix of pining, awkwardness, and heated banter made me grin. The family and found family moments are warm and messy, which feels real. It isn’t all angst: there are so many hilarious scenes, especially when Violet’s grumpy cat familiar and Silas’s lovesick wolf get involved. The slow-burn tension is legit and I genuinely cared if they’d figure things out. The paranormal world feels lived-in but never confusing, and the writing never tries to make things more complicated than they have to be. I love books that can balance magic, humor, and vulnerability—and this one does that in a way that kept me turning the pages.
Who Will Like This Book
If you’re in the mood for a paranormal romance that's easy to devour (but still spicy and emotional), you’ll enjoy this. Fans of second-chance romance, enemies to lovers, and forced proximity tropes will find a lot to love. If small-town magic, cozy vibes, and quirky magical sidekicks are your thing, don’t skip it. There are some heavier themes—like orphaned main characters and old wounds—but nothing overly dark or graphic. There’s no cheating or major love triangle drama, just lots of tension and pining.
⚠️ Trigger warning: Includes some mentions of orphanage, past emotional neglect, light violence, and mild blood (typical for werewolf stories), but nothing overly graphic or brutal.

There’s lots of tension, and when the spice hits, it’s very explicit and creatively magical (think knotting and primal play). Scenes are open door and detailed, but not extreme or violent—just seriously hot, balanced out with lots of genuine emotion and yearning.
