My The Wrong Heart Book Review - No Spoilers
Plot Summary
"The Wrong Heart" by Jennifer Hartmann is a deeply emotional contemporary romance about grief, healing, and unexpected connection. The story centers on Melody, who is devastated after the sudden death of her husband. Struggling to cope, she reaches out—anonymously—to the man who received her husband's donated heart, hoping for something to anchor her grief.
Why I Love This Book
Reading this book put my heart through a blender. I related to Melody’s raw grief and her stubborn hope. Her pain isn’t hidden, and I could feel every ache as she tried to move on. Parker broke my heart and put it back together, one painful piece at a time. I love that this story refuses to make grief neat or comfortable. Some chapters left me feeling gutted; others made me believe in hope again. The conversations—the way we fail and fall and forgive—pulled me in. I loved the dual POV, letting me see both Melody’s and Parker’s fears, scars, and tenderness.
The honesty in their relationship floored me. It’s not pretty or perfect, but it’s real. Watching Parker soften, watching Melody learn to accept love again, left me rooting for them even when I wasn’t sure if either was strong enough to heal. I love that Hartmann doesn’t shy away from darkness. She doesn’t rush healing, and every emotion plays out authentically. I wept, I raged, and when hope showed up, it nearly killed me with relief.
Who Will Like This Book

If you like romances where characters are deeply flawed but manage to find light together, you’ll be hooked.
