Why I Love This Book
I love this book’s brazen mix of high-stakes suspense, mafia grit, and explosive paranormal attraction. Eloise is a plus-size heroine who never lets herself be steamrolled, no matter how intimidating her “king” may be. The constant banter, push-pull tension, and the way these two characters challenge each other is electric. Hart’s take on vampire governance, rival clans, and shadowy urban politics adds both danger and depth beyond a typical romance. There’s plenty of spice: open-door scenes, kink, and group dynamics woven straight into the story’s heartbeat. The supporting characters—loyal friends, shifty vampires, and mafia enforcers—are entertaining and keep the world feeling alive. The plot zips—stoic standoffs, dangerous bargains, and just enough twists. There are moments of melodrama and insta-love, but the sheer fun and self-aware, “over the top” energy had me hooked and grinning.

If you dig vampire romance with mafia twists, “deal with the devil” plots, forced proximity, and explicit scenes, you’ll devour this. It’s perfect for readers who want a plus-size heroine with heart, a scary-hot king brought to his knees, found-family friendship, and non-stop urban fantasy action.
