My Wedding for My Werewolf Book Review - No Spoilers
Plot Summary
Wedding for My Werewolf by Honey Phillips is part of the cozy monster romance Fairhaven Falls series. This book centers on Robin, a human woman on the run after being framed for a crime she didn’t commit. Desperate and exhausted, Robin finds herself in Fairhaven Falls—a quirky small town full of monsters, which, compared to her recent troubles, feels almost safe. There, she meets Eric, the town’s werewolf sheriff, who is worn out by his pack’s constant matchmaking attempts. To buy themselves some peace, Robin and Eric agree to a fake-mate arrangement. Robin gets protection and a chance to lie low, while Eric keeps pushy she-wolves (and his meddling mother) at bay. What starts as make-believe quickly sparks something real, as dangers from Robin’s past threaten her newfound safety and the line between pretend and fate blurs in this steamy, sweet romance.
Why I Love This Book
I love the gentle blend of sweetness and spice in this story. The small-town setting is full of warmth, laughter, and meddling side characters who add charm without making things feel too crowded or dramatic. Eric, the big-hearted sheriff, is both protective and a little bit lost—his frustration with his pack’s matchmaking made me smile, and I loved how his connection with Robin felt instant but believable. Robin’s reluctance makes sense after everything she’s been through, and her growth from anxious fugitive to hopeful partner is what makes the romance hit home.
What really works for me is the way the “fake mates” setup lets both characters drop their guard and get real, even when they want to keep things strictly business. There’s plenty of humor—from meddling orc grandmas to awkward dinners—and also a real thread of danger, since Robin is still being chased by her past. But at its core, this book left me feeling good. The romance is low-angst, the pacing is cozy but never boring, and every scene between Eric and Robin sparkles with chemistry, affection, and just the right amount of steamy tension.
I also appreciate the fated-mates tension, the absence of needless breakups, and the way the town of Fairhaven Falls comes alive—reading this book feels like being hugged by friends who have fur, fangs, or claws, but hearts of gold.
Who Will Like This Book
If you love cozy monster romance, small towns, low-angst stories, and “fake dating” turned real, you’ll fall hard for this book. It’s a great pick for fans of protective, slightly possessive heroes, guarded heroines learning to trust, and fun side characters (including matchmaking relatives and nosy townsfolk). You don’t need to read the series in order—each book stands alone.
⚠️ Trigger warning: There’s light danger from Robin’s past, mentions of being framed and on the run, and some aggressive matchmaking, but nothing graphic or dark. This is a safe, feel-good romance at heart, with naughty bits (including knotting and mating marks) that fit the world and tone.
