My My Forbidden Ghost: Bad Boy Paranormal Romance (Ghost Healer) Book Review - No Spoilers
Plot Summary
My Forbidden Ghost: Bad Boy Paranormal Romance (Ghost Healer) by Isabeau Durant follows the story of a heroine who has always been able to see ghosts. She decides to risk everything—putting all her savings into starting a “ghost healing” business, determined it will fix her life and maybe help her finally feel “normal.” But nothing goes as planned. Instead, she meets a ghost who isn’t like the others: a rebellious, magnetic bad boy with unfinished business and a dark past. As she navigates her new business, family drama, and clients who often don’t believe in her powers, she’s drawn into the secrets of this forbidden ghost. Together, their connection blurs the lines between life and death—leading to real danger, emotional risk, and a romance that just might break the rules of both worlds.
Why I Love This Book
I love how this book combines humor, spooky chills, and forbidden romance all in one story. The heroine is easy to relate to—quirky, struggling with self-doubt, but determined to use her weird gift for something good. I love her voice and how she keeps things real, even when the supernatural starts to take over her life. The chemistry with the ghost hero is electric—he’s brooding, a little reckless, and not at all what she expected.
What hits me hardest is the balance between light, laugh-out-loud moments and real emotion—there’s plenty of snark, but also loneliness, longing, and the ache of trying to fit in when you never have. The romance is messy and a little bit wild, but it feels genuine. The “bad boy” vibes are strong, and the haunting tension makes every interaction feel fresh. The paranormal world is spooky without being dark for darkness' sake, and I found myself just hoping these two broken souls would get their unlikely happy ending.
The premise feels different from other ghost stories—more about healing, finding your place, and facing the secrets you’d rather ignore. When the mystery kicks in, with ghostly threats and lingering regrets, I was hooked. I tore through the pages, rooting for the main character and loving every minute of her weird, romantic adventure.
Who Will Like This Book
If you’re into paranormal romance with a real emotional core, you’ll enjoy this. It’s great for readers who like their love stories with a side of snark, a dose of forbidden tension, and plenty of supernatural chaos. This book is for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider, anyone who loves ghost romance, and anyone who wants their “bad boy” trope with actual heart. There’s suspense, family drama, and real soul-searching mixed with humor and heat.
⚠️ Trigger warning: This novel contains themes of grief, family secrets, otherworldly threats, and some moments of fear or supernatural peril; there are a few dark moments, but the tone remains hopeful and the story is focused on healing.

The book hits a sweet spot with its steam—think smoldering tension, passionate kisses, and some steamy scenes that never overshadow the plot or emotional beats. There’s heat, but if you prefer romance with heart and humor (not just spice), this works.
